Sky Cinema new releases: What’s on in February
I Saw the TV Glow - 1st February

A psychological horror film from indie filmmaker Jane Schoenbrun (We’re All Going to the World’s Fair). Justice Smith (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) and Jack Haven (Atypical) play isolated teenagers who bond over their shared love of a Buffy-esque TV show.
What starts as a nostalgic love letter to ‘90s teen TV soon becomes much stranger as our heroes begin to question both their identities and reality itself. Also boasts a supporting role from Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst!
Chuck Chuck Baby - 2nd February
Helen’s life is pretty dull - she works in a chicken factory in North Wales, cares for her sick mother and little else. But when her teenage crush returns to town, Helen rediscovers some of her former zest for life.
A British romance with some fun musical elements. Stars Louise Brealey (Sherlock) and Annabel Scholey (Being Human).
The Bikeriders - 7th February

A starry period crime epic, following the trials and tribulations of the fictional Vandals Motorcycle Club (based on the real-life Outlaws Motorcycle Club) in 1960s midwest USA.
Expect violence, classic bikes and some impeccably cool leather jackets. Stars Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), Austin Butler (Elvis), Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead) and Tom Hardy (Inception), amongst others.
Turn Me On - 8th February
A dystopian rom-com - that rarest of things - starring Bel Powley (A Royal Night Out) and Nick Robinson (Jurassic World).
In a world where all emotion has been eradicated by a revolutionary daily pill, two young lovers decide to skip their next dose and experience their relationship as nature intended.
Fox & Hare Save the Forest - 9th February
An animated adventure starring a cast of cute, cuddly critters on a mission to - yep - save their forest from an overflowing lake. One to keep the little ones entertained.
The Garfield Movie - 14th February

Another one for the kids, this latest iteration of the lasagne-loving feline sees our hero forced out of his sedentary lifestyle, teaming up with his long-lost street cat father on a high-stakes adventure.
Stars Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy), Samuel L Jackson (Pulp Fiction), Ving Rhames (also Pulp Fiction), Nicholas Hoult (Nosferatu) and, of course, Snoop Dogg.
The Line - 15th February
A drama that takes an unflinching, warts-and-all look at life in a college fraternity: the parties, the hazing and the kinds of toxic personalities that thrive in such conditions. Sort of like a grittier, more depressing version of The Wolf of Wall Street, set in a university.
Stars a whos-who of up-and-coming talent, including Alex Wolff (Hereditary), Lewis Pullman (Top Gun: Maverick) and Halle Bailey (The Little Mermaid). Plus John Malkovich!
A Place Called Silence - 16th February
A Chinese psychological crime thriller, this tells the story of a school plagued by bullying, where the tragic death of a student leads to a rash of mysterious disappearances.
Rob Peace - 20th February
Based on a true story, this follows a young man who turns to dealing drugs in an effort to get his father out of prison. This was written and directed by British screen legend Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave), who also stars alongside Mary J Blige (Mudbound) and Camilla Cabello (Cinderella).
The Watched - 21st February
Credit: THE WATCHERS | Official Trailer (Warner Bros. Pictures, YouTube)
The directorial debut of Ishana Night Shyamalan, daughter of twist-master general M. Night Shyamalan, this trippy supernatural thriller follows a woman (Dakota Fanning) who finds herself trapped in a mysterious glass-fronted cabin in the woods, alongside a bunch of other unlucky people.
Every night they’re visited by strange creatures, who simply watch the prisoners from the shadows. Creepy stuff.
Thelma - 22nd February
Credit: THELMA - Official Trailer (Universal Pictures, YouTube)
95-year-old character actor June Squibb (Inside Out 2) stars in her first(!) ever leading role in this action comedy caper, about a no-nonsense old woman who falls victim to a credit card scam and sets out to find the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
A fun twist on the classic revenge movie formula. Also stars Fred Hechinger (Gladiator II), Parker Posey (Best in Show) and Richard Roundtree (Shaft) in his final screen appearance.
Fight or Flight - 28th February
A Sky Original action thriller starring Josh Hartnett as a hit man forced to team up with his target when their flight is overtaken by rival assassins.
