What’s on Sky Sports this month? Your essential viewing schedule

Top watches for the sporting month ahead.

Another month brings another lot of top live sports on Sky Sports. Check out what’s coming up on Sky Sports this month across their 12 channels.

Football on Sky Sports

Football season is back and the leagues are well underway. The Premier League in particular looks as though we’ll be in for an interesting campaign, although you also can’t ignore the competition from the leagues below.

An unfortunate international break pauses proceedings during the first full weekend of the month, but following that will be some exciting fixtures for us all to enjoy!

Tottenham vs Arsenal | Sunday 15th September at 2pm | Sky Sports Main Event & Premier League

The first matchday back after the international break will see the historic North London Derby on that weekend's Super Sunday.

Tottenham will look to put a solid dent in Arsenal’s early title aspirations, so this is sure to be a fiery clash.

Liverpool vs West Ham | TBC | TBC

Carabao Cup third-round action will see the remaining Premier League clubs introduced, with the pick of the round being Liverpool taking on West Ham.

An official date, time, and coverage is yet to be confirmed for the match but it will be on Sky Sports guaranteed - if not on one of the main channels then on Sky Sports+.

Manchester City vs Arsenal | Sunday 22nd September at 4:30pm | Sky Sports Main Event & Premier League

A clash of the two titans from the last couple of seasons, it won’t be a deciding result for both sides but a win certainly will help their title aspirations.

City will certainly favour the matchup at the Etihad, having not lost to the Gunners at their home ground since January 2015 - a current streak of 10 games unbeaten against them at home with eight victories in that span.

Bayern Munich vs Bayer Leverkusen | Saturday 28th September at 5:30pm | Sky Sports Football

Over to the German Bundesliga as last year's undefeated champions Leverkusen take on the titans of Bayern.

The home side was unable to beat the eventual champions in both fixtures last season. However, they surely will want revenge after having their 11-year title-winning streak snapped.

Manchester United vs Tottenham | Sunday 29th September at 4:30pm | Sky Sports Main Event & Premier League

Maybe not the heavyweight clash it once was but Man United vs Tottenham is still capable of producing an interesting affair.

With both sides aiming for at least Europa League football qualification at the end of the year and the competition for those spots tighter than they have been in recent years, neither side will want to give up a point.

Bournemouth vs Southampton | Monday 30th September at 8pm | Sky Sports Main Event & Premier League

Sure, it’s not the biggest game, but its a derby match nonetheless and it comes on a Monday night, and who are we to complain about football to cheer up a Monday evening?

Formula 1 on Sky Sports

We’re into the final stretch of the season and with two races from the second half of the year already down, it's clear to see that a title fight in both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships are well and truly on.

Azerbaijan Grand Prix | 13th - 15th September | Sky Sports F1

The ever-exciting Baku City Circuit has a new place on the calendar later in the year but is sure to still provide 20 turns of exhilarating racing.

McLaren has never stepped foot on the Baku podium before, while Sergio Perez, who is the only muti-time winner of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, will surely be looking at it as his opportunity to earn at least one victory this season.

Singapore Grand Prix | 20th - 22nd September | Sky Sports F1

The site of last year's only non-Red Bull victory, the Singapore Grand Prix is typically an exciting race, and with the season winding down and much at stake still, we will surely be in for a treat as every team goes for glory.

Cricket on Sky Sports

England vs Sri Lanka: Third Test | 6th - 9th September | Sky Sports Main Event & Cricket

The third and final Test of the England vs Sri Lanka series will see the two sides go at it on more time, albeit really for nothing as England have already secured the victory, having won the previous two Tests in the series.

England vs Australia IT20 & ODI Series | 11th - 29th September | Sky Sports Main Event & Cricket

England and Australia’s historied cricket rivalry will add a new chapter through Australia’s tour of England, with three IT20 fixtures followed by five ODI’s.

IT20 fixtures

  • First IT20 – Wednesday 11th September
  • Second IT20 – Friday 13th September
  • Third IT20 – Sunday 15th September

ODI fixtures

  • First ODI – Thursday 19th September
  • Second ODI – Saturday 21st September
  • Third ODI – Tuesday 24th September
  • Fourth ODI – Friday 27th September
  • Fifth ODI – Sunday 29th September

Vitality Blast Finals Day | Saturday 14th September | Sky Sports Cricket

The 2024 Vitality Blast campaign will come to a close this month, with the quarter-final games being played earlier in the month before the final matches are played on Saturday 14th.

Golf on Sky Sports

The PGA Tour main season has now finished following Scottie Scheffler’s victory at the FedEx Cup Championship. There are still tournaments to be played, though not on the PGA Tour but rather the LPGA and DP World Tours.

Solheim Cup | 12th - 15th September | Sky Sports Main Event & Golf

It’s the ladies’ turn to pit Europe against the United States as the Solheim Cup returns this year, taking place at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Virgina, USA.

Europe retained their title after the 2023 edition ended as a draw (ties mean the previous outright winner retains). Team USA arguably looks strongest on pure season performances, but Europe boasts experience on their side.

DP World Tour: BMW PGA Championship | 19th - 22nd September | Sky Sports Main Event & Golf

The final Rolex Series event of the DP World Tour season before the playoffs begin, the BMW PGA Championship holds a lot of prestige and provides a lot to play for.

Taking place at Wentworth Club in Surrey, England, the BMW PGA Championship will feature some of the top names in world golf, including Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood and Shane Lowry, plus some major celebrities for the Wednesday Pro-Am including Tom Holland.

Tennis on Sky Sports

US Open | 26th August - 8th September | Sky Sports Main Event, Tennis & Arena

The fourth and final Grand Slam of the year takes place in New York, with the iconic Arthur Ashe Stadium and its fellow prestigious courts set to provide a strong contest once again.

Rugby Championship | 10th August - 28th September | Sky Sports Action

The annual Rugby Championship, competed between Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Argentina, begins this month, with the first of the six-game competition coming on 10th August as Australia faces South Africa while New Zealand hosts Argentina.

New Zealand are the defending champions and the all-time most successful side. Will they be able to keep a hold of their title, or will the reigning World Champions South Africa have something to say about things?

NFL | Starting Friday 6th September at 12am | Sky Sports Action & Mix

The long off-season is finally over as Amercian Football action is back this Thursday night/Friday morning!

The defending champions Kansas City Chiefs will get things underway, welcoming the Baltimore Ravens for the first game of the new season.

Three further games will be shown on Sunday 8th September, with the Steelers visiting the Falcons at 5pm followed by the Browns vs Cowboys at 8:25pm then the Rams vs Lions at 12:10am Monday morning. On Tuesday morning, catch the Jets vs the 49ers at 12:am.
