What’s on Sky Sports this month? March’s essential viewing schedule

Top sporting watches this month.

March will see more major events across all sports that Sky has to offer, so find out how you can tune in, when and where.

Football on Sky Sports

March is generally the month when all leagues begin reaching the business end, with roughly a third of the season left to play.

Enjoy it while we still have it as there is still a lot of football to be played over this month across all leagues covered by Sky Sports.

Celtic vs Rangers | Sunday 16th March at 12:30pm | Sky Sports Football

The Old Firm, one of football’s most historic, violent, and all-round slugfest derbies.

Celtic have a seemingly insurmountable lead at the top of the table, but that’s rarely what this game is about. The pride of having one over the other is all that matters, particularly so this season it seems, so expect a mega clash.

Arsenal vs Chelsea | Sunday 16th March at 1:30pm | Sky Sports Premier League

Similar to the above, the claim of the best side from the nation's capital has more often fallen to one of these two in recent years, so there is a lot of weight behind the matchup.

Arsenal have a good hold on the second spot and should be able to hold on, while Chelsea are chasing a top four spot. Both would like to take points off the other, which should lead to a tasty affair.

Liverpool vs Newcastle | Sunday 16th March at 4:30pm | Sky Sports Main Event & Football

The first chance at silverware this season as Liverpool and Newcastle will do battle for the glory of the EFL Cup crown.

With the Reds on track for the league title win plus a real chance at the Champions League title, they could be in for a glorious season. The Magpies, on the other hand, have this as their only chance as silver this year, so they will no doubt go all out for it.

Formula 1 on Sky Sports

Formula 1 is back! The 2025 season is one of the most highly anticipated campaigns we’ve ever witnessed and is sure to provide action during all 24 rounds, and it all gets underway in Australia.

Australian Grand Prix | Friday 14th - Sunday 16th | Sky Sports F1 HD

The first race of what is sure to be a hotly-contested season, Formula 1 returns to Melbourne for the opening race for the first time since 2019.

Anticipation is high for the coming campaign and Albert Park Circuit might just be the perfect stage for the inaugural contest of the year.

Chinese Grand Prix | Friday 21st - Sunday 23rd | Sky Sports F1 HD

A week after the first we’ll be treated to the second race of the year, emanating from the Shanghai International Circuit.

Lewis Hamilton has six wins to his name here and may be hoping to get his seventh and potentially first victory with his new Ferrari team at a track he clearly enjoys.

Cricket on Sky Sports

ICC Champions Trophy | Wednesday 19th February - Sunday 9th March | Sky Sports Main Event & Cricket

England’s abysmal performance aside, the ICC Champions Trophy’s revival has been a solid return for the competition.

It will all come to an end this month, with the semi-finals and the final coming during the first week of the month.

Golf on Sky Sports

As the first and arguably biggest major of the year creeps closer, the contests on the PGA Tour begin ramping up. March will see some of the bigger non-major events that will boast strong fields and even heavier competition.

As well as that, the inaugural TGL season will be coming to an end, with the final match of the regular season giving way to the playoffs as we find out who will be crowned the first-ever TGL Champion.

TGL Match 15 & Playoffs | Wednesday 5th - Tuesday 25th | Sky Sports Golf

TGL has been a welcome addition to the PGA Tour amongst golf fans and it is sure to keep going from strength to strength, even in its inaugural year.

The finale of the first campaign is due for this month, so be sure to check out our How to watch TGL in the UK guide for all the important information on the competition and the playoffs to come.

Arnold Palmer Invitational | Thursday 6th - Sunday 9th | Sky Sports Main Event & Golf

A contest in honour of one of golf’s most iconic figures, the legend that was Arnold Palmer lives on via his invitational competition, a contest that all on the tour dreams of winning like it’s a major.

As ever, it will take place from the Bay Hill Club and Lodge, a venue that Palmer owned himself from 1974 until his death in 2016 and now by his daughter Amy.

The Players Championship | Thursday 13th - Sunday 16th | Sky Sports Main Event, Golf & Sky Sports+

Labelled and promoted by the PGA Tour themselves as the fifth major, The Players Championship holds as much weight as the likes of The Masters and The Open and thus provides an incredibly strong competition.

The stacked and competitive field makes their way to the Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass, a challenging course that will test them all.

Tennis on Sky Sports

ATP & WTA 1000 Indian Wells | Wednesday 5th - Sunday 16th | Sky Sports Main Event & Tennis

The ATP and WTA Tour seasons roll on as both roll to California for the Indian Wells Open.

As an ATP Masters 1000 and WTA 1000 event, this is one of the elevated tournaments outside the Grand Slams, so the fields will be stacked.

ATP & WTA 1000 Miami | Wednesday 19th - | Sky Sports Main Event, Tennis & Sky Sports+

Same sentiment as above, the fields will traverse the US over to the opposite coast for the Miami Open.

Australian Open champion Jannik Sinner will be unable to defend his title he won last year due to his suspension so a new champion will be crowned.

Note: WTA 1000 Miami actually starts on Tuesday 18th.

Premier League Darts | Sky Sports Main Event + Sky Sports+

The Premier League Darts season rolls on, with four more nights set for this month. Last year’s finalist and current world number one Luke Humphries currently holds a strong lead at the top of the table, but it’s all about simply being in the top four to make the Play-Offs.
