The biggest, most exciting new movie and TV trailers this week.

We live in a golden age of entertainment, with great new movies and TV shows being released all the time. There’s so much, in fact, that it can be hard to keep track of what’s coming, and what to get excited about.

With that in mind, we’ve put together a list of the biggest and best trailers released this week. And there are some real gems in there, featuring everything from creepy vampires to balletic assassins to… Robbie Williams.

Movies

Ballerina

In cinemas 6th June 2025

As the title treatment proudly proclaims, Ballerina is a John Wick spin-off, switching focus from the infamous ‘Baba Yaga’ himself to new(ish) character Eve Macarro - a young woman trained in the twin arts of ballet and murderising.

Ana de Armas (No Time to Die) takes on the title role, replacing actual ballerina Unity Phelan, who appeared (briefly) as the character in John Wick 3: Parabellum. She’s joined by Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead) and Gabriel Byrne (The Usual Suspects), as well as, reprising their roles from the John Wick movies, Keanu Reeves, Ian McShane and, in his final screen role, Lance Reddick.

This looks very much like the mainline Wick films, full of bone-crunching combat and lightning-fast gunplay. It should be fun, and major bonus points for that ridiculous/awesome bit with the flamethrower-firehose showdown.

Nosferatu

In cinemas 25th December 2024

The highly-anticipated vampire horror creeps ever closer…

A passion project for director Robert Eggers (The Witch), this remake of FW Murnau’s original - now over 100 years old - has been in the works for years. It’s draped in mystery, only showing us the tiniest glimpses of Bill Skarsgård’s (It) monstrous Count Orlock, but the little we’ve seen so far is dripping with atmosphere and, crucially for a horror movie, looks genuinely terrifying.

In terms of story, the original was a loose, unofficial adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, and it seems like Eggers’ version will follow the same track. Packing a starry cast including Nicholas Hoult (The Great), Lily-Rose Depp (Yoga Hosers), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Bullet Train) and Willem Dafoe (Spider-Man), this has all the makings of an all-time horror classic.

Babygirl

In cinemas Christmas 2024

An erotic thriller, very much in the vein of 90s classics like Fatal Attraction and Indecent Proposal, starring Nicole Kidman (Eyes Wide Shut) as a high-powered CEO who begins a complex, dangerous romance with a young intern (Harris Dickinson, Where the Crawdads Sing).

Writer/director Halina Reijn (Bodies Bodies Bodies) sinks her teeth into some very complicated power dynamics and, judging by the trailer, takes things in a pretty dark direction. Should be interesting.

Juror #2

In cinemas 30th October 2024

The latest film from Clint Eastwood (Mystic River), this tense courtroom thriller follows family man Justin Kemp (Nicholas Hoult, The Menu), a juror serving on a high-profile murder case who unexpectedly finds that he may have a personal connection to the crime.

A word of warning: the trailer totally gives away what that connection is, but it does set up a pretty interesting moral and legal conundrum. Knotty, gripping stuff with a great cast, including Toni Collette (Hereditary), JK Simmons (Whiplash) and Keifer Sutherland (24).

On Disney+ 1st November 2024

A documentary celebrating the life and work of legendary composer John Williams, whose musical scores for the likes of Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jaws and Jurassic Park - among many, many others - enchanted and inspired generations of moviegoers.

Featuring interviews with the man himself (now 92 years old!), as well as his family and collaborators, including JJ Abrams and Steven Spielberg, this promises to be a thorough look at Williams and a peek behind the scenes at the creation of some of cinema’s greatest music.

Better Man

In cinemas 26th December 2024

No, your eyes do not deceive you. The part of Robbie Williams in this upcoming musical biopic is indeed played by a CGI chimpanzee.

Described as a ‘satirical biopic’, this aims to deliver something a little different than the standard rags-to-riches popstar odyssey. It’s an odd concept, essentially combining Rocketman and Planet of the Apes, but it’s sort of a perfect fit for Williams’ cheeky, off-kilter sense of humour.

Plus, this has been getting some rave reviews after doing the rounds at the Telluride and Toronto film festivals. Directed by Michael Gracey (The Greatest Showman) and starring Williams as the voice of his monkey self, this should be unlike anything else coming out this year.

In cinemas 10th January 2025

A mysterious horror thriller from the producing team behind 2022’s surprise hit Barbarian. This already looks to have a similarly dark, twisted sense of humour, with glimpses of dance numbers and poppy visuals in amongst the bloody carnage.

The story is under wraps for now, but this trailer suggests an extremely toxic romance between Sophie Thatcher (Yellowjackets) and Jack Quaid (The Boys). Exciting stuff.

Joy

On Netflix 22nd November 2024

An uplifting drama based on the true story of the British medical pioneers who developed IVF. Thomasin McKenzie (Last Night in Soho) plays nurse Jean Purdy, who played a large role in the first trials, but whose efforts have only recently been acknowledged by the scientific community.

It’s a truly inspirational story and this looks to be a film packed with emotion. James Norton (Little Women) and Bill Nighy (About Time) round out the cast.

Woman of the Hour

On Netflix 18th October 2024

Charts the unbelievable true story of a woman (Anna Kendrick, Pitch Perfect) who crosses paths with notorious serial killer Rodney Alcala (Daniel Zovatto, Don’t Breathe) when they both appear on The Dating Game on national TV.

This is Kendrick’s directorial debut, and promises to be a creepy, shocking journey. As they say - the truth is often stranger than fiction…

The Last of Us

On Sky Atlantic in 2025

The critically-acclaimed post-apocalyptic video game adaptation returns for a long-awaited second season. Following the shocking Season 1 finale (no spoilers here if you haven’t seen it, or played the game), Season 2 picks up the story five years later and reportedly follows the events of the somewhat divisive second game.

Whatever ends up happening, viewers are sure to be in for more thoughtful storytelling, gut-punch emotion and morally complex character arcs. Not to mention a lot of gross fungus zombies.

Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) and Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones) return from Season 1, alongside new additions like Kaitlyn Dever (Booksmart), Isabela Merced (Alien: Romulus) and Jeffrey Wright (Westworld).

On Apple TV+ 25th October 2024

An atmospheric mystery series with some spooky supernatural overtones. This show follows a child psychiatrist (Billy Crystal, When Harry Met Sally) who encounters a troubled young boy (Jacobi Jupe, Peter Pan & Wendy) with a strange connection to his past.

With a creepy kid, a watery ghost and unsettling drawings in black crayon, this looks like perfect Halloween viewing. Plus, it’s a rare dramatic role for Crystal, who is known mostly for his work as a comedian.

The Franchise

On Sky Atlantic 21st October

A comedy series taking aim at big-budget superhero movie making, this satire comes from Oscar-winning filmmaker Sam Mendes (Skyfall) and master of the sweary quip Armando Iannucci (The Thick of It). The Franchise promises to skewer the egos and absurdity at the heart of modern Hollywood and, judging by the trailer, it’s going to be absolutely hilarious.

Stars Himesh Patel (Yesterday), Lolly Adefope (Ghosts), Aya Cash (The Boys) and Jessica Hynes (Spaced), plus appearances from Daniel Brühl (Captain America: Civil War) and Richard E Grant (Loki) - two actors who have genuine experience working within the superhero movie machine.
