Sky Cinema Channels

Sky Cinema is composed of 11 channels, each of which is either dedicated to a specific genre or offers a curated mix of popular movies.

Most of these are fairly self-explanatory - go to Sky Cinema Action to find action movies, for example - but we’ve broken all of them down below, with some examples of the great films you’ll find on every channel.

Sky Cinema Premiere | 301

Sky Cinema Premiere is the best place to watch all of the new releases added to the Sky Cinema catalogue every month. There’s a new premiere every day, including smaller indie films and the biggest Hollywood blockbusters.

The range of films on this channel is huge, including action, horror, drama and even children’s movies, and the lineup is changing all the time. Check out our list of the latest Sky Cinema Premieres for a taste of this month’s new additions.

Sky Cinema Select | 302

This channel is a sort of showcase for Sky’s own film recommendations - a curated list of all best, biggest and most recent movies that you need to know about.

Great for those times when you just can’t decide what to watch.

Sky Cinema Hits | 303

A channel that focuses on blockbuster hits and popular movies. Here you’ll find a mix of genres, from action to sci-fi to romantic comedies, and even animated movies.

With movies like Shazam, The Meg and Spider-Man, you should always be able to find something good to watch.

Sky Cinema Greats | 304

Nothing but the biggest, best and most popular films of all time, with an emphasis on true Hollywood classics. Sky Cinema Greats is the place to find your all-time favourites - and it’s also home to curated seasons, showcasing movies in a certain genre, or from a particular director.

Think of the top movies ever made, and you’ll get an idea of the films you’ll find on this channel - classics like Titanic, Goodfellas, Saving Private Ryan and The Shawshank Redemption.

Exactly what it sounds like, Sky Cinema Animation is dedicated entirely to animated adventures of all kinds.

This is the newest Sky Cinema channel, and features a host of modern cartoon classics like The Secret Life of Pets, The Lego Movie and Kung Fu Panda.

Sky Cinema Family | 306

A channel for movie fans of all ages, Sky Cinema Family is where you’ll find hilarious, action-packed family entertainment.

Expect fun adventures like Bumblebee, School of Rock, Dora and the Lost City of Gold and the Harry Potter films. Plenty to hold even the shortest attention spans, and perfect for your next family movie night.

Sky Cinema Drama is the home of stirring, Oscar-winning performances and uplifting, human stories. Here you’ll find period pieces (Downton Abbey, The Favourite), biopics (Rocketman) and cinematic epics (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood).

Sky Cinema Sci-Fi & Horror | 311

Fancy something a little darker? Sky Cinema Sci-Fi & Horror is the place to find all things spooky and fantastical, from supernatural chills to otherworldly thrills.

Sci-Fi & Horror is loaded with scary classics like The Omen and Alien, as well as action-packed science fiction epics, like Men in Black, Alita: Battle Angel and Spider-Man: Far From Home.

How to watch Sky Cinema

Sky Cinema is dedicated to bringing the latest, greatest movies to film fans everywhere, and thankfully there are multiple ways to get access, even if you’re not a Sky customer.

Sky Cinema on Sky

You can only get Sky Cinema as an add-on to a basic Sky Entertainment subscription, but there are a number of great Sky Cinema packages available to new customers. Check out our Sky Cinema deals page for a list of the latest offers.

If you’re an existing Sky customer, it’s easy to add Sky Cinema to your subscription. Call 0330 0544 813 to speak to a dedicated Sky team about upgrading your current package.

It’s also worth noting that all Sky Cinema packages also include access to Paramount+ at no extra cost, and offer two free Vue cinema tickets every month.

Sky Cinema on NOW

NOW is a streaming service that offers several memberships, each of which provides access to Sky content, including Sky Entertainment, Sky Sports and Sky Cinema.

The Cinema membership gives you all 11 Sky Cinema channels in full HD, and the NOW app is available on most devices, meaning you can watch wherever and whenever you like. You can also bundle memberships together, and all subscriptions come with no contract, so  you can cancel any time.

Sky Cinema on BT

Sky Cinema is available for BT customers through EE TV, as part of a Full Works or Big Entertainment package. Sky Cinema is provided through a NOW membership, and can be accessed through the NOW app.

Existing customers can also choose to add a NOW membership to their current EE TV package, on a rolling contract that can be cancelled at any time.
