Sky is one of the nation's most reliable broadband networks and offers a great range of options for everyone.

Now, they have added to that range with a new service, Sky Full Fibre 100, which fits in a nice spot available to many at a fair price.

Find all the key information you’ll want and need to know about their new service, including cost, package deals and more.

What is Sky Full Fibre 100?

Sky Full Fibre 100 is the company's newest broadband offering. It is, as the name suggests, full-fibre, meaning that it utilises FTTP technology to deliver ultrafast speeds.

Full Fibre 100 is essentially their new entry full-fibre service as it fits in between Superfast and Ultrafast, making it ideal for smaller households with high broadband usage.

As always, you can expect a strong and reliable connection throughout the house with Full Fibre 100 and great customer service should you ever need it.

How fast is Sky Full Fibre 100?

Sky Full Fibre 100 is in something of a middle ground between superfast and ultrafast broadband.

As you can guess, Full Fibre 100 advertises average download speeds of 100Mbps, which is where the limit between superfast and ultrafast is set.

Sky’s minimum speed guarantee is in place with the service and is set at a very respectable 90Mbps, so you can always expect to get a great amount out of your service.

Where is Sky Full Fibre 100 available?

The UK is currently in the midst of its FTTP rollout, with Ofcom’s latest stats stating that around 52% of households have access to full-fibre. That’s roughly 15.4 million houses.

As mentioned, full-fibre refers utilises FTTP technology. FTTP stands for fibre to the premises and means that a fibre optic cable is used to run from the telephone exchange right the way through to the household.

This is an improvement on FTTC (fibre to the cabinet), which uses a fibre optic cable that runs to a green roadside cabinet, and then from the cabinet, a copper cable is run to the houses.

Copper cables don’t transfer the data as well, so while it runs well into the cabinet with FTTC, the data is slowed down when it is transferred from there to the households. This isn’t the case with FTTP, because fibre optic cables are used throughout and are much better at transferring the data.

The rollout of FTTP across the nation is going well, with Openreach, the operator of the nation’s broadband network, stating that 25 million homes and businesses will have access to FTTP by December 2026.

FTTP is most available in larger cities and residential areas in and around them, so if you live somewhere that falls under either category, you may have access to Full Fibre 100.
