The fight to the playoffs begins…

After a short break due to the Six Nations, the Gallagher Premiership is ready to get back underway with the final seven rounds of the regular season followed by the play-offs and run to the final.

A spot in the playoffs are still very much up for grabs so expect everyone in contention to be pushing hard for the postseason.

Find out how you can watch the Gallagher Premiership on TV, including the play-offs and the final.

How to watch the Gallagher Premiership on TV

There are two channels that show Gallagher Premiership fixtures live, although one shows a lot more than the other.

TNT Sports is the main broadcast, as they have been for the last eleven years, while ITV also shows seven games live on their free-to-air channel.

Gallagher Premiership on TNT Sports

The 2024/25 season marks the first time in Premiership history that all 93 games of the regular season and playoffs will be shown live, with TNT Sports having the honour of being the first broadcaster in the league's history to achieve such a feat. They’ll also show extended highlights of the fixtures fans may have missed.

The matches will be available to watch across TNT Sports channels on TV - that’s TNT Sports 1, 2, 3 and 4 plus six red-button channels. TNT Sports Ultimate is also available for select events, offering a viewing experience in 4K resolution with HDR.

You can also watch via Discovery+ on any other device, such as your phone, tablet, laptop/PC or games console. If you have TNT Sports, then you’ll have access to a Discovery+ Premium subscription, which will give you access to the streaming service plus all the sports included.

If you need to get your package sorted, why not check out the BT deals that we have available on Digital TV? For TNT Sports, we have the choice of either the Sports + Fibre 2 or Full Works + Fibre 2 package, both of which provide you with EE TV (formerly BT TV) plus TNT Sports and BT’s brilliant Fibre 2 broadband.

Gallagher Premiership on ITV

In addition to TNT Sports’ coverage, ITV is also hosting seven games throughout the season thanks to their extended deal that sees them the exclusive free-to-air broadcaster.

They, too, will have a highlights show, with the rebranded Gallagher Premiership Unleashed premiering every Wednesday, showing all the highlights and analysis from the latest round.

Will the Gallagher Premiership final be on ITV?

The Gallagher Premiership final will be broadcast live on ITV as well as on TNT Sports.

Gallagher Premiership Rugby 2024/25 results: The story so far

11 weeks down with seven remaining and there are still playoff places up for grabs.

Bath have been sensational this year, currently residing at the top of the table and have already claimed their first-ever Premiership Rugby Cup after an easy demolition of Exeter 48-14 in the most comprehensible final victory in the tournament's short history to date.

They have some breathing room between themselves and second place, with a six point gap between Bath and Bristol providing the difference at the time of writing (19/03). There’s then a further five point gap between Bristol and third-placed Gloucester, but from then it is close as to who will take the remaining two playoff spots.

Only nine points separates third down to eighth, so while Northampton, who are currently in that eighth spot, may need a good few things to go their way, they certainly aren’t out of contention just yet.

Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for ninth-placed Exeter, who currently are sitting on 15 points, and most certainly not for Newcastle, who are rock bottom of the table having not even reached double digits for points yet.

With seven matches each left to play, there could still yet be a shakeup of the table that sees some sides fall with others rise.

Gallagher Premiership Rugby 2024/25 table

As usual, the top four teams in the table at the end of the season will go through to the play-offs.

The top eight teams in the table will earn a place in next season's European Rugby Champions Cup, the top-tier European club competition.

The team that finishes ninth will earn a place in the EPCR Challenge Cup, the second-tier European club competition.

The team at the bottom of the table will play a playoff game with that season's RFU Championship winner (second-tier English domestic competition, subject to eligibility) to decide who gets the final place in the Premiership for next season and a spot in the EPCR Challenge Cup.
