We live in a golden age of entertainment, with great new movies and TV shows being released all the time. There’s so much, in fact, that it can be hard to keep track of what’s coming, and what to get excited about.
With that in mind, we’ve put together a list of the biggest and best trailers released this week. And there’s a ton of great stuff coming soon, featuring everything from angry golfers to fast cars and sinister technology.
Movies
F1

In cinemas 25th June
Just in time for the start of the 2025 Formula 1 season comes the first full trailer for F1 - the hotly anticipated new movie from director Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick). Everything you might expect is present and correct - fast cars, training montages and a fun, spiky rivalry between Brad Pitt’s veteran driver and Damson Idris’ hotheaded newbie.
But the real draw here is the action. Using techniques similar to Maverick - i.e., strapping actors into actual, camera-mounted F1 cars - the brief glimpses of racing we get in this trailer are suitably nerve-jangling.
June can’t get here fast enough.
The Life of Chuck

In cinemas June 2025
Filmmaker Mike Flanagan takes on yet another Stephen King adaptation, following the excellent double whammy of Gerald’s Game and Doctor Sleep. But don’t expect an exercise in terror this time around.
Based on King’s novella, Chuck is a sort of unconventional biopic, telling the life story of an extraordinarily ordinary man. This got great buzz when it premiered at TIFF last year, drawing comparisons to other humanistic King classics like Stand By Me and The Shawshank Redemption.
Could this be in the running for next year’s Oscars?
Materialists

In cinemas 13th June
Indie powerhouse A24 takes on the rom-com in this story of a successful matchmaker (Dakota Johnson) who can’t seem to focus on her own love life. Until, that is, she finds herself torn between two prospects and must choose either the impossibly handsome and charming Pedro Pascal, or the impossibly handsome and charming Chris Evans.
It’s a real Sophie’s Choice situation, and - wait a minute. Matchmaker? Wealthy clients? Unlucky in love? Is this a secret remake of Hitch?!
Happy Gilmore 2

On Netflix 25th July
After almost 30(!) years, Happy Gilmore finally steps onto the green once more this summer.
Expectations are high for this one; Adam Sandler’s beloved comic creation - a failed hockey player whose dynamite swing makes him an unconventional but brilliant golfer - is genuinely considered one of the comedian’s best roles.
We’ll find out if the belated sequel’s a hole in one when it hits Netflix this summer.
Freakier Friday

In cinemas 8th August
Things are about to get freaky… again. Yes, Freaky Friday, the beloved 2003 teen comedy, is getting a sequel.
Original stars Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis once again find themselves in the wrong body, only this time the shenanigans include Lohan’s teenage daughter and her best friend. Expect chaos, a car chase and Chad Michael Murray.
Together

In cinemas 1st August
Real life couple Alison Brie and Dave Franco take codependence to a whole new extreme in the trailer for this bizarre-looking body horror.
It’s mostly wordless, instead delivering a series of strange, disturbing images (set to a stripped-down version of the British Airways theme, no less), depicting a couple who are drawn by some otherworldly force closer and closer together…
Looks fun!
Elio

In cinemas 20th June
Pixar’s latest tells the story of Elio, a lonely kid who travels into space and meets a host of weird and wonderful alien creatures - one of which becomes his new best friend.
This looks just as sweet and visually inventive as you’d expect from the great animation studio - even if the trailer does give away most of the movie…
TV Shows
Black Mirror

Season 7 on Netflix from 10th April
Netflix’s mega-popular dystopian sci-fi show returns next month with a fresh batch of technological nightmares. And, as revealed in this trailer, at least one of them will be a direct sequel to fan-favourite Star Trek parody USS Callister.
Amongst the typically starry cast this time around are (deep breath) Cristin Milioti, Chris O’Dowd, Rashida Jones, Awkwafina, Paul Giamatti, Peter Capaldi, Issa Rae and Emma Corrin.
The Narrow Road to the Deep North

Season 1 on Prime Video from 18th April
“We all left part of ourselves in that jungle.”
Based on the Booker Prize-winning novel by Richard Flanagan, this is that rare project that takes a look at the experiences of Australian soldiers during WW2 - specifically those taken captive by the Japanese.
Rising star Jacob Elordi (Saltburn) stars as a young POW, forced to build a railway through forbidding jungle and dreaming of what he left behind. Ciarán Hinds plays the older version of the character, looking back at his experiences.
Looks like powerful stuff.
